Ad agosto 2019, pochi mesi prima che il mondo si fermasse per la pandemia, è giunta a Genova, dalla Nuova Zelanda, ed è stata ospite del Lab3, Brit Finucci, una scienziata marina esperta in pesca e con esperienza nella gestione e conservazione dei condritti (squali e loro parenti) e delle profondità marine. Sara e Stefano hanno potuto così lavorare direttamente con lei in laboratorio e Brit ha potuto tenere una conferenza sulla sua attività presso il Dipartimento di Biologia dell'Università di Genova. Dato che all'epoca parole come distanziamento non avevano ancora nessun significato, si è potuta far visitare un po' della nostra bella Zena alla nostra ospite. Acquario e Museo di Storia Naturale, ma anche il piccolo museo di Anatomia Comparata del Dipartimento di Biologia e il Righi, raggiunto con la nostra simpatica funicolare rossa. Una permanenza così breve ha permesso solo un assaggio della nostra cucina, ma l'accoglienza è stata positiva!
In August 2019, a few months before the world stopped due to the pandemic, Brit Finucci, a marine scientist expert in fishing and with experience in the management and conservation of Chondrichthyes, (sharks and their relatives), and of the sea depths, arrived in Genoa, from New Zealand, and was a guest of Lab3. Sara and Stefano could work directly with her in the laboratory and Brit held a lecture at the Department of Biology of the University of Genoa, on her activity. Since at the time words like distancing still had no meaning, we were able to show Brit a little of our beautiful Zena. Aquarium and Museum of Natural History, but also the small museum of Comparative Anatomy of the Department of Biology and the panorama of Genoa from Mount Righi, reached by our nice red funicular. Such a short stay allowed only a taste of our cuisine, but the welcome was positive!
